LA Rams Spark Reading Excitement at Wilson Elementary

Wilson Elementary students had an engaging and spirited morning as the Los Angeles Rams hosted a Rams Readers assembly, featuring a visit from Rampage, the team’s mascot. Joined by Rams cheerleaders and staff, Rampage shared his new book, Ride With Rampage, with first- through third-grade students.

During the visit on November 21, coordinated by Community Schools staff, each student received a complimentary copy of the book, along with an activity guide, crayons and a bookmark to continue their reading adventures at home.

Students joined the cheerleaders and read along with the Ride With Rampage, which follows his journey across Southern California as he travels to SoFi Stadium for game day. Along the way, he meets fellow Rams fans and cheerleaders while exploring some of Los Angeles' iconic landmarks.

The Rams Readers program aims to boost literacy rates by sparking excitement about reading. Early literacy is crucial for young elementary students to develop reading comprehension and foundational skills. Events like this demonstrate that reading can be fun and engaging both in and out of the classroom, inspiring students and their families to embrace the joys of literacy together.
