VIDEO: Lynwood Unified Celebrates 24 Graduates with Summer Commencement Ceremony

Lynwood Unified School District recognized 24 graduating seniors from Firebaugh, Lynwood and Vista high schools for their hard work and perseverance during a milestone summer commencement ceremony on July 17.

“Our hard work and unique journeys are a testament that anything is possible with determination and a team to support you,” Lynwood High School student Oswaldo Villegas said. “Continue to face your challenges head-on. Nothing in life comes easily, so embrace this next chapter with courage and resilience.”

Denzel Enciso and Rebecca Sanchez from Vista High represented their school with grace as they thanked their families, Lynwood Unified support staff, teachers, and principals and praised the Class of 2024 graduates for their determination to succeed.

Vista High graduate Rebecca Sanchez, who led the turning of the tassels, shared that her experience at Lynwood Unified was a lot of trial and error, but when she enrolled at Vista High School, she knew she found the right place to learn and grow.

“The staff and principal are so welcoming and incredibly involved, and ensured I had the support to succeed,” said Sanchez, who plans to pursue her dream of becoming a pastry chef.

For Firebaugh High School graduate Yasmin Soto-Jara, the journey was one of invaluable lessons, resilience and patience.

“I've faced challenges, setbacks and moments of doubt. But through it all, I have learned that it's not about how fast you reach your goals, but the dedication and effort you put into achieving them,” Soto-Jara said. “This diploma is not just a piece of paper; it represents our hard work, our growth and our unwavering commitment to our future.”
