Lynwood Unified Holds Study Session, Provides LHS Reconstruction Updates to the Community

The Lynwood Unified Board of Education held a study session on March 14 to provide the community with an update on the reconstruction of Lynwood High School on Imperial, including an overview of the final contenders in consideration for carrying out the project.

Following the construction bidding conference on Jan. 31, where 24 construction management companies toured the campus, 12 companies submitted proposals. Only 10 were responsive. Construction procurement specialists from SIMPLAR, an independent consulting firm facilitating the selection process, scored all firms.

The top-ranked firms, which were selected to participate in virtual interviews, are:
  • Huckabee (ranked No. 1)
  • Anser Advisory (ranked No. 2)
  • Balfour Beatty Construction (ranked No. 3)
  • Neff Construction (ranked No. 4)
The construction manager, on behalf of the District, plans and coordinates with architects, engineers and other professionals to ensure the design is feasible, the project meets the District’s requirements, the project stays within budget and the construction meets quality standards and adheres to all safety regulations.

The Board of Education is expected to make its final selection during the March 23 Board meeting.

Demolition is set to begin June 15, keeping in line with the District’s goal of having students return to campus in fall 2027.

Lynwood Unified also shared current renderings for the project during the study session. These renderings include a 360-degree view of the new structure that will replace Building G and a portion of the surrounding area.
